Sorry about some of the images not rotating, I don't feel like
dealing with it at the moment. Anyways, there is a shop up
on 44th and Wads. called Mod Mood, they have new as well
as consignment vintage stuff. I went in and talked with them
and they will rent for photographic purposes and stuff to us.

If the tables still haven't been grabbed we can get some from
them too. Also if we were thinking we needed an overhead light
for in the kitchen they have a lot to choose from.

They will rent to us individually too for props and stuff you might
want. Just go in or call, the guy you need to talk to for renting is:

Flooring, do we agree that it will be easier (and since we have thebudget for it) and look nicer to use vinyl flooring instead of painting it? Here is what I found in the idea of black and white checkers, they are all about the same price and look the same. If we are going to do this we need to get it ordered, if not anyone interested I will be ordering some anyways. If you want to use it and the class doesn't buy it with the class funds we will split the cost between whoever wants to pitch on it. I think we can have it ordered locally too to save on shipping.

I found this exact toaster at probably 3 of
the places we went to and they were all in
good shape. We found many radios, so I think
that it is going to come down to what one the
group wants. We also found many phones.
We found these items on South Broadway.

Jazzmin has a 1945 radio that she is willing to let us
use under certain conditions.. I posted an image in
the Set Decoration Page. Everyone should check it
out and decide so I can talk more with Jazzmin
about it. Also Kara, how much were those canisters?
We need to start evaluating prices so we can move
forward in the production, etc.

This is what some of the canister that we found
look like. We found them at antique stores on South
Broadway.

Here's all the material we found. All these shots were taken at only two antique stores on Santa Fe. We are going to visit two more stores by Monday and hopefully will find more. I will be
posting all contact information for the stores by Saturday. D SQUAD RULES!!!

There weren't Islands
But there were tables and
Chairs that looked liked this
You need to hit the antique
stores on Broadway
with this image and
see if we can find a set,
or something similar
and then maybe rent
one.

Berry Oliver Design Ideas

I really like this type of design for either
a counter top or the table. I'm not sure
if it's too much of a dinner style, but
it still might look cool.
Oliver_Counter Top Tearsheet.jpg
I like some of the design ideas
for wallpaper. I don't think we
wrap the fridge in it like it's shown
but I think it's good for the style
ideas from the time.
Oliver_Kitchen Design Tearsheet.jpg
Most of the images of cabinets that I've
seen have this type of design to them. I
like the open area on top, but most of
cabinets I've seen have been pretty
bland and not very interesting.
Oliver_Cabinet Tearsheet.jpg
Overall I think the biggest thing is
to have the kitchen sets match.
I don't think we have to do it in
white like this image, but have
were they all go together.

The b&w checkered floor is also a
traditional element in kitchen design for
this time period. Hopefully I'll be able to
post some color palettes from this time
period so that we can have an easier
time choosing paint. If not, I think there
are enough example here to pull from
once construction is done.

So I am still looking to see about more vendors, etc... I don't really know.
One of my friends was telling me about a huge rummage shop downtown
I will try to figure out what it is so we could check there, I am just not sure
where to hunt for it all. I am just worried because it seems like a lot of this
is coming back in style and parts are getting expensive again.
Here are a couple vendors that I found around town so far though, maybe they will be able to tell
us where we can find more stuff too on the dime?

What I am seeing is every kitchen I look at is chrome accents
every were. Chrome handles chrome accents on the counter
tops and really ugly wall paper and pastel colors. I also look at
what types of things were on the counters, and I found some
small appliances that sit on the counters. Those are the
last images on the bottom.

I found that they had funny covers for a lot of there
small appliances.

To the left is a cook book from the 50's I dont know if we would like to have any thing like this in the kitchen.
